Leslie W. Slaugh is a shareholder in Howard Lewis & Petersen, PC. He is back from his service mission as of 12/07/2023.
His practice is focused in the areas of commercial law (including partnership, corporation, and LLC disputes and breach of contract litigation), real estate (including easements and road rights-of-way, foreclosures, and property owners association issues), creditor rights in bankruptcy, insurance, and appellate advocacy. Mr. Slaugh has significant appellate experience, having written over 100 briefs and handled appeals in cases involving a wide range of topics in both state and federal courts. Leslie Slaugh has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2016 in the field of Appellate Practice.
A Logan, Utah native, Leslie received a B.A. in economics from Brigham Young University in 1979, and a Juris Doctor, with honors, from the Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark College of Law in 1982. He is admitted to the state and federal courts in Utah, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
Leslie actively participates in community affairs. He has served since 1988 on the board of the Family Support and Treatment Center, a non-profit agency devoted to prevention and treatment of child abuse. He is an active member of his church and has served in various leadership capacities. He is a member of the Utah Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Rules of Civil Procedure, a member of the Supreme Court Committee on New Lawyer Training, a member and past president of the Central Utah Bar, and a bar examiner for the Utah State Bar. He enjoys spending time outdoors and camping and hiking with youth and with his family.
